Home automation constitutes a key technological resource for optimizing energy consumption, strengthening residential security, and promoting environmental sustainability in urban contexts. The objective of this research was to analyze the determining factors for implementing home automation systems in urban single family dwellings oriented toward smart management. A mixed methodological approach (qualitative-quantitative) with a descriptive-explanatory design was employed, applying the PRISMA protocol (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) for systematic review. The search was conducted in Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, Scopus, and SciELO, obtaining a final sample of 10 scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025. Findings reveal that the Internet of Things represents the predominant technological foundation, followed by artificial intelligence and voice recognition as control interfaces. The analyzed systems achieved accuracy rates exceeding 90% in energy measurement and response time efficiency under five seconds. It is concluded that determining factors are organized into three dimensions: technical, comprising interoperability, connectivity, and energy efficiency; psychosocial, related to perceived usefulness, ease of use, and trust; and contextual, encompassing economic access, available infrastructure, and digital literacy.
