The study examines the integration of communication technologies in a public educational institution in Guayaquil, Ecuador. It analyzes the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education and proposes improvements based on the findings. A mixed research approach was conducted, combining quantitative and qualitative methods, through surveys of 80 students and documentary analysis. The results revealed high ownership of mobile devices (92,5%), but moderate perception of institutional technological infrastructure (5,8/10). It was identified that Facebook (42,5%), WhatsApp (35%), and TikTok (32,5%) are used for educational purposes to share materials and form discussion groups. The use of these technologies stems from individual teacher initiatives, not from institutionally planned processes. Although all students recognized the positive impact of ICT on their performance, the perception of technological use by teachers is polarized. The main barriers identified were insufficient infrastructure and limited teacher training. It is concluded that, despite the potential of mobile technologies for learning, significant challenges persist in infrastructure and teachers' digital competencies, requiring institutional strategies that harmoniously integrate traditional and digital resources.
