The accelerating pace of digitalization and the exponential volume of data that characterize the contemporary organizational environment present a central challenge: transforming information into actionable strategic knowledge. This review article analyzes the role of Business Intelligence (BI) as a strategic resource in organizational digital transformation. The primary objective was to identify the main theoretical and empirical contributions supporting the implementation of BI in institutional modernization contexts, as well as the prevailing methodological trends and most frequently addressed areas of application. An inductive method was employed with a qualitative approach and a non-experimental design, developed as a systematic literature review following the PRISMA protocol, through which nine scientific publications issued between 2021 and 2025 were selected and analyzed from the SciELO, Scopus, and Redalyc databases. The findings reveal that BI is effectively applied in education, public administration, and small and medium-sized enterprises, and that its efficacy is determined not only by technological factors but also by organizational culture, knowledge sharing, and rational decision-making processes. The review established that the integration of BI with artificial intelligence and fuzzy logic expands its predictive and prospective capabilities, giving rise to a new data-driven management paradigm. The results indicate that Business Intelligence is not merely a technological tool but rather a far-reaching strategic resource for evidence-based decision-making, the optimization of institutional performance, and organizational adaptation to high-uncertainty environments and rapidly accelerating technological change.
